Description
A cave entrance without specified shape or characteristic peculiarities is 1 m wide and gives access to an estimated 15 m deep rift (Brown 2001.02.08 Mss: Krem Mura). ETYMOLOGY: The Khasi -ka mula- (note 1) or -ka mura- (B.D. Kharpran Daly, personal communication) is a low cane stool or a vegetable and the cave is said to be named after a nearby rock with a similar shape (note 2). SITUATION: According to M.W. Brown (2001.02.08 Mss: Krem Mura), the entrance to the first Mura cave lies not only at an unspecified distance but also in an unspecified direction from the village of Tongseng (N25°19'28-: E092°30'05” WGS84). Brown and Tom Chapman the entrance of Krem Mura (Brown 2001.02.08 Mss: Krem Mura). 2009.02.23: Bridget Hall, Roshan Yengkhom (Medical Assistant, Indian Navy) and Pankaj Rai (Seaman 1st Class, Indian Navy) … went to find Mura 6 [sic! more likely: Krem –>Mura 1] using the GPS but did not (Brooks, S J et al. 2009 Mss 'Diary 2009.doc' Monday 23rd).
