Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

Boulders in small cleft. 1 m drop to flat out gravel floor (Brown 2001.02.08 Mss). ETYMOLOGY: The Khasi verb -kit- means to carry on the back with a head strap; to bear; to be responsible for but the bird -ka kit-bru- is an owl (SINGH, N 1906: 41). SITUATION: According to Brown (2001.02.08 Mss), this item lies not only at an unexplainable location but also in an inexplicable spatial relation to the other caves in the vicinity. CAVE CONTENTS: Brown (2001.02.08 Mss) observed not only a gravel floor and calcite walls (flowstone speleothems) but also found an animal bone (perhaps the shoulder blade of a goat). CAVE CLIMATE: At an unspecified hour of the day, Mark W. Brown (2001.02.08 Mss) and Tom Chapman noticed on 8th February 2008 an unspecified air current and recorded a certain good draught without identified flow direction.
