Description
A karst exsurgence represented by a nice clear pool ( to be surveyed), length 7 m, vertical 3 m (Arbenz, T 2006.02.10 in: Arbenz, T 2006.05.21 Mss: Abstracts.xls) said to be a horizontal cave which is renowned as a place to catch fish. ETYMOLOGY: The words -sunglein- (Pynbha Suja 2001.02.14) or -sulein- (Carlyn Phyrngap 2003 February) are not identified (note 1). Th. Arbenz, B.D. Kharpran Daly, P. Ludwig and R.F. Sheen find (2006.02.10) the exsurgence cave entrance on their own, did not bother to identify its locally known name, nicknamed it -Little Cave- and recorded a half-bred Krem Little (Arbenz, T 2006.05.21 Mss: Abstracts.xls).SITUATION: Somewhere below the village of Tangnub and in the area where the eastern foot of the Shnongrim - Tangnub ridge slopes down to the paddy fields (pynthor) of Mr. Pynbha Suja in the fluvial plain of the Litang River valley. CAVE DESCRIPTION: None (note 2).CULTURAL HISTORY - Human use: This cave is said to be a fish hunting ground which is periodicaly exploited as a source of food when the water retreats near the end of the dry season (B.D. Kharpran Daly 2001.02.14 after Pynbha Suja). Kharpran Daly at the Sutnga fair. 2003 February: Carlyn Phyrngap suggests to spell Krem Sulein instead. 2006.02.10: Thomas Arbenz, Brian D. Kharpran Daly, Peter Ludwig and Robin F. Sheen visited the entrance to Little Cave and recorded a GPS reading.
