Description
A vertical cave entrance with unidentified dimensions and unspecified characteristics gives access to what was identified as shaft which seems to drain two distinct, seasonal water courses in an unidentified direction from one Sloped Ground to an other Sloped Ground (anonymous Hall, B E 2010.02.14 Mss: Krem Mopiyen 14/2/2010). ETYMOLOGY: The origin and meaning of the recorded Synteng Khasi (Pnar) cave name Krem Mopiyen (anonymous Hall, B E 2010.02.14 Mss) was lost in the realm of thick fog (often disguised as the abode of clouds) but obviously represents a dyslexist's distortion of -Krem Mopynien- (the same as Krem Mopynieng) which is well-known to signify a -krem- or hole called after a -mo- (the same as mu and maw) or stone that is specified by being -pynien- (the same as pyieng) or perpendicular, upright, or vertical (note 1). ARBENZ, T (2012: 239) follows anonymous Hall, B E (2010.02.14 Mss: Krem Mopiyen 14/2/2010) without reasoning or questioning and repeats that the meaning an origin of the cave name is not available (for some). SITUATION 2010a: The cave entrance to Krem Mopiyen (sic! qua: Mopynien) lies at an unidentified location in burned cleared area (note 2) and an estimated distance of 5 m in an unidentified direction from what had been in February 2010 a tree next to two tree stumps (anonymous Hall, B E 2010.02.14 Mss: Krem Mopiyen 14/2/2010). SITUATION 2010b: Arbenz, T (2010.03.31 cave distribution map: Pala_Ridge_4-10.pdf) indicates the location of Krem Mopiyen (sic! qua: Mopynien) not only a linear distances of 1.6 km ESE from the central road junction in the village of Umkyrpong (25°26'04”N: 92°34'48”E) and 900 m NNE from the central road junction in the village of Kseh (St. Joseph church near 25°25’24.0”N: 92°35’32.9”E: circa 880 m) but also on the surface above an explored cave passage in Krem –>Labit (Kseh). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2010: Shaft (anonymous Hall, B E 2010.02.14 Mss: Krem Mopiyen 14/2/2010). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2012: Shaft with no way-n (Arbenz, T 2012.07.20 undated Meghalaya cave record ”Krem Mopiyen” in: XSObjectsPala.doc; ARBENZ, T 2012: 239).n (Arbenz, T 2012.07.20 undated Meghalaya cave record ”Krem Mopiyen” in: XSObjectsPala.doc; ARBENZ, T 2012: 239).
Histoire
EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2010.02.14: Guided by nobody less than None himself, it were Derek Pettiglio, Sarah Payne and Andrew 'Andy' Chapman, who are not only said to have mastered estimating a linear distance of either 20 m approx (anonymous Hall, B E 2010.02.14 Mss: Krem Mopiyen 14/2/2010) or 20 m (estimate) but also were said to have descended (Arbenz, T 2012.07.20 undated Meghalaya cave record ”Krem Mopiyen” in: XSObjectsPala.doc; ARBENZ, T 2012: 239). This seems unlikely because all of the four announced actors had been enaged on 14th February 2010 (2010 Diary (current).doc) in other plays, namely:Fekri E: Krem Khle Mynsgad (Vertical Labbit) [Krem Khlieh Mynsngad] … Mark T. Erfan and Prakash explored the dry passages leading off from the entrance area Payne S: Krem Khle Mynsgad (Vertical Labbit) [Krem Khlieh Mynsngad] … Chris, Estelle, Sarah and Pankaj (wet route) followed the wet leads upstreamChapman A: Andy and Tom Chapman resurveyed and derigged Pala shaft to make connection ith Tienghen [Krem Tyngheng] at station 232/74Pettiglio D: Ross, Derek and Henry surveyed side passages in the lower half of Krem Man Krem [Krem Mankrem].
