Either a shadow in the vegetation or a figment in the eye was interpreted as seeing a possible cave (anonymous Arbenz, T et al. 2013.08.07 Mss: Diary 2012.doc) which, at its best, was rather part of a cave entrance. ETYMOLOGY: No autochthonous, indigenous or locally known name has been identified for this imaginary entrance, shadow in the vegetation or figment in the eye reminiscent of the Court of the Crimson King or, in Khasi, Kut Syiem Sáwsyngiang (note 1). SETTING: in the bottom of a closed depression or doline that had been recently cleared of vegetation. From their viewing point at N25 26 07.4 / E92 35 30.7 they could see a possible cave [entrance] (anonymous Arbenz, T et al. 2013.08.07 Diary 2012.doc). SITUATION: At an unspecified location in a north-eastern corner of the Jaintia Hills. POSITION: At an estimated liner distance of approximately 100 m south of (-03.2” north) a viewpoint in the vicinity of an inadequately (incompletely) recorded GPS reading with an unidentified prcision error at N25 26 07.4 / E92 35 30.7 (anonymous Arbenz, T et al. 2013.08.07 Mss: Diary 2012.doc) with an unspecified geodetic datum (possibly WGS84).
