Description
What looks like a leaking cooking vessel that has been discareded in a limestone terrain, is actually an abandoned pot in karst with possible way on or, more imaginative, a relatively large open pothole 15 m deep of unidentified width and appearently worth a look (Sheen, R. F. 2003.02.13 Mss: Krem Satad). ETYMOLOGY: There is no Khasi word -satad- (Sheen, R. F. 2003.02.13 Mss) but ”ka satap” (noun) is the Khasi word for a crevice (SINGH, N 1906: 184).SITUATION: Not only in an unidentified setting but also at an unspecified location (note 1) which definitely remains inexplicable to Robin F. Sheen (2003.02.13 Mss: Satad) and Nigel Robertson but possibly lies somewhere on one or the other flank of the Shnongrim Ridge. What looks like a leaking cooking vessel that has been discareded in a limestone terrain, is actually an abandoned pot in karst with possible way on or, more imaginative, a relatively large open pothole 15 m deep of unidentified width and appearently worth a look (Sheen, R.
