The rock shelter, in sandstone, is 50m wide, 3m high and 15m deep. In the rear wall of the shelter is a small opening leading to a chamber some 2m wide by 1 m high. On the wall above this opening are red outlines of nine human hands varying in size from those of a large adult to those of a child of seven or eight years. Some of the outlines are sharper than others; two are faded and illdefined. All of the outlines are of the left hand, either an odd chance or a significant choice. The prehistoric paintings were discovered in 1964 by the Fine Arts Department and they have been dated to 3,000 û 3,500 years old. There is a display of these painting in the National Museum, Bangkok.
