Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

The water of an unidentified the stream without recognised name was seen on 3rd February 2010 to disappear into a gaping sinkhole, which an anonymous contributor identified as a crack of unspecified size, character and nature. On this occasion, either the same or an other water was believed to appear again in an unspecified location down at the valley (Anonymous 2010.03.29 Diary (Current) 2010.doc: 3rd February). A more advanced stage of having a quick look not only modified the original a crack of the gaping sinkhole into a kind of dramatic cleft in the sandstone river bed but also confirmed that this sinkhole takes the water of an unidentified impressive stream without recognised name (Anonymous 2012.03.10 Mss: Meghalaya 2012 Team 2 Diary: 13th February 2012). ETYMOLOGY 2010: The meaning of the site name Krem Dikubin (recorded in February 2010) was not discovered but may signify a bottle-neck that will become troublesome (note 1) -- for example troublesome to walk across during the ext rains. ETYMOLOGY 2012: In spite of the efforts of cavers, the meaning of the renamed site name Krem Dikabor (note 2) was also not discovered (note 3). SITUATION 2010: At an unspecified location (without recorded GPS position) somewhere in the vicinity of the village of Lawbah (note 4) and on an unspecified the stream bed without identified name (Anonymous et al. 2010.03.29 Diary (Current) 2010.doc: 3rd February). SITUATION 2012: At an unspecified location and in an unidentified setting somewhere in the vicinity of the village of Lawbah and on an unspecified impressive stream without recognised name (Anonymous 2012.03.10 Mss: Meghalaya 2012 Team 2 Diary: 13th February 2012). POSITION 2012.08.09: Allegedly within ±10 m (or not) the obviously absurd waypoint N25 13.2’ [sic!] 03.6” E091 33’ 49.9” Alt 755m (Brooks, Simon J 2012.08.09 -Mawsynram GPS - Locations Part 1- personal correspondence). … what I have written is exactly what is on the cave data sheet (Brooks, Simon J 2012.08.12 -e: ML 2012 typo Dikubin- personal correspondence). CRACK DESCRIPTION 2010: An obvious crack in the open air is seen in broad daylight to drain water which -- believe it or not -- appears down at the valley (Anonymous 2010.03.29 Diary (Current) 2010.doc: 3rd February). CLEFT DESCRIPTION 2012: A dramatic cleft in the sandstone river bed takes an impressive stream rather than a cave as previously thought (note 5). PROSPECTS 2010: Needs investigation (Anonymous et al. 2010.03.29 Diary (Current) 2010.doc: 3rd February). PROSPECTS 2012: Ryan P. Baker, Kyle Wayne Baker, and Jean-Pierre Bartholeyns recorded to have checked out (Anonymous 2012.03.10 Mss: Meghalaya 2012 Team 2 Diary, entry Monday 13th February 2012) without having checked in. PROSPECTS 2013: Little doubt remains that an excursion in view of a little investigation instead of an expedition in search or recreational adventure caving will detect the relic drainage system that preceded the currently active and daylight-lit shortcut f the impressive stream without recognised name.e: ML 2012 typo Dikubin- personal correspondence). EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2010.02.03, trip 1: Gharsing Mylliemngap guided Brian D Kharpran Daly, Peter Ludwig, Cdr. Vijay Chhikara (Commander), Vikrant Shukla, Roshan Singh Yengkhom, and Vinklo Sumi to the crack of Krem Dikubin (Anonymous et al. 2010.03.29 Diary (Current) 2010.doc: 3rd February). 2012.02.13, trip 2: Hiamdor Rapsang took one of the drivers Kyrshan Thabah, Bolk Syntiew, and Devel Mawlong to see Ryan P. Baker, Kyle Wayne Baker, and Jean-Pierre Bartholeyns getting transported by Sumo from the Mawsynram I.B. to the village of Lawbah where unidentified knowledgeable people familiar with the area (no names mentioned) stepped out of their way to show them the way to what was this time recorded as Krem Dikabor that proved to be a dramatic cleft in the sandstone river bed that takes an impressive stream rather than a cave as previously thought. This they recorded to have checked out (Anonymous 2012.03.10 Mss: Meghalaya 2012 Team 2 Diary, entry Monday 13th February 2012) but they hav not checked in. Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018
