SHKEN, Lum Mupud (Krem)

Description
A comparatively large, N/S oriented rift is not only imagined to be fossil (note 1) or, more likely, relic (note 2) but also imagined as a 50 m long, 5 m wide, 30 m deep (read: neither descended nor explored and of unknown depth), which Sheen (2003.02.13 Mss) called Krem Shiken (sic! most likely for: Krem Shken, if not Krem Shken Yellang) and imagined to be endowed with what looks like a further pitch at northern end that appears to be worth a look! (with exclamation mark) or good? (with question mark). ETYMOLOGY: Krem Shiken (Sheen 2003.02.13 Mss) is a corrupted version of Krem Shken Yellang (Raibok Patlong 1998.02.17 personal communication), where -shken- is a type of bamboo (note 3) and -yellang- means nest, horst or grove. SITUATION: At an unknown location somewhere on the western flank of the Shnongrim Ridge. Robin Sheen (2003.02.13 Mss: Shiken) and Nigel Robertson were led to the entrance but upon describing how exactly to find this cave entrance, Sheen (2003.02.13 Mss) explains Follow down gully into jungle. It does not help that the GPS position recorded comes with a bogus precision error of ±10 m (note 4).A comparatively large, N/S oriented rift is not only imagined to be fossil (note 1) or, more likely, relic (note 2) but also imagined as a 50 m long, 5 m wide, 30 m deep (read: neither descended nor explored and of unknown depth), which Sheen (2003.02.13 Mss) called Krem Shiken (sic! most likely for: Krem Shken, if not Krem Shken Yellang) and imagined to be endowed with what looks like a further pitch at northern end that appears to be worth a look!
