Description
What Rockcliff (2009.02.19 Mss: Loose Hole) considered to be an easily mistakable cross joint controlled rift sink without identified size, dimensions or peculiar characteristics, explains Brooks (undated 2009 June Mss amendment to Rockcliff 2009.02.19 Mss: Loose Hole) to represent a kind of seasonal sink / pothole in joint controlled cross-rift. ETYMOLOGY: No locally known cave name has been identified for what Henry Rockcliff nicknamed Loose Hole it is imposobly loose (Rockcliff 2009.02.19 Mss: Loose Hole) and Simon J. Brooks renamed Loose Hole (Um Muju Area) and explained to be a Made up name - entrance / cave very loose / unstable (Brooks undated 2009 June Mss amendment to Rockcliff 2009.02.19 Mss: Loose Hole). SITUATION: Not only at an inexplicable location falling on the Wah Sapoh quadrangle (N25°17': E092°30' to N25°18': E092°31') but also at a spot without identified spatial relation to the other known cave entrances in it's vicinity (note 1). APPROACH: Instead of decribing how exactly to find the entrance to this cave entrance, Rockcliff (2009.02.19 Mss: Loose Hole) forwards a GPS position, which had been written down with the bluntest possible pencil and allows a choice of interpretations. On top of that, he commands, literally quoted, to Stay High [pun intended?] on Hill and Head Streat Down to GPS (note 2). CAVE DESCRIPTION 1 (Brooks, S J et al. 2009 Mss -Diary 2009.doc- Thursday 19th February): One of … nine new caves, all of them with vertical entrances under the big broken boulders. Most of them are drafting [sic! more likely: draughting] and oulook [sic!] of all the caves are good (Brooks, S J et al. 2009 Mss -Diary 2009.doc- Thursday 19th February). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2 (Rockcliff 2009.02.19 Mss -Loose Hole- evaluation): Cross joint controlled rift sink. EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2009.02.19: Henry Rockcliff, Roshan Yengkhom (Medical Assistant, Indian Navy), and Polchung 'Chung' Kipgen (Indian Navy) walked down from the village of Tangnub and found previously ignored cave entrances, which they declared to represent nine new caves (Brooks, S J et al. 2009.02 Mss 'Diary 2009.doc' Thursday 19th). Henry Rockcliff (2009.02.19 Mss: Loose Hole) himself, however, took it, literally quoted and quite suggestive, as an 19.2.09 Recy HENRY Rockcliff, Roshon, Chung and that's it. Brooks (undated 2009 June Mss amendment to Rockcliff 2009.02.19 Mss: Loose Hole) has it 19/2/2009 as Krem Honeycomb Reference.
