Description

Unpredictable and lethally high carbon dioxide

Martin Ellis - 10/04/2020

The stream is an important local water source and the entrance is usually sumped. In exceptionally dry periods the passage beyond can be followed for at least 1,200m, but normally contains lethal levels of carbon dioxide. The further reaches of the cave have not been explored, but it is likely that the stream drains a large area of karst as far north as Ban Ya Pa Nae over 10km away.

Histoire

In 1999 the resurgence sump dried up allowing access to a long stream way. However, there were lethally high levels of carbon dioxide and the team were lucky to get out alive. Martin Ellis - 10/04/2020
