Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

An estimated 12 m by 12 m wide pothole, which seemed to drop for an estimated 14 m or 15 m down to an unspecified floor or base, was somehow associated (Audsley, A U 2010.02.17 Mss: Krem Yaje 17/2/10) with Krem –>Yaje. SITUATION: Arbenz, T (2010.03.31 cave distribution map: Pala_Ridge_4-10.pdf) indicates no Krem Yaje associated Pothole (or so) and Arbenz, T (2010.07.18 Mss personal correspondence) tells me the location of both Krem Yaje and, perhaps, the associated pothole is not known because it was located but has neither been surveyed nor explored (note 1). POSITION: Audsley, A U (2010.02.17 Mss: Krem Yaje 17/2/10) positioned Krem Yaje … associated pothole 20 m East, N 25 24 48-1 E 092 36 06.7 and leaves us alone to decide if this waypoint (apparently N25°24'48.1”: E092°36'06.7” WGS84) indicates a spot somewhere on the rim or in the centre of the 12 m wide Yaje Pothole. It also remains unknowable if the centre or a spot on the rim of Yaje Pothole lies 20 m east a) from the caveentrance to Krem Yaje orb) from the waypoint (±9 m N25°24'48.1”: E092°36'06.7” WGS84) for Krem Yaje. Actually, however, the GPS position N 25 24 48-1 E 092 36 06.7 (Audsley, A U 2010.02.17 Mss: Krem Yaje 17/2/10) recorded for the associated pothole 20 m East does not indicate a spot which lies 20 m East (from Krem Yaje) but a) 76.5 m in a direct line NNE from the 15 m NW offset GPS position (allegedly ±9 m N25°24'50.4”: E092°36'05.7” WGS84) recorded for Krem Yaje and b) 53.8 m in a direct line NNE from the corrected GPS position (N25°24'49.8”: E092°36'06.3” WGS84).entrance to Krem Yaje orb) from the waypoint (±9 m N25°24'48.1”: E092°36'06.7” WGS84) for Krem Yaje.
