EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2009.02.19: Henry Rockcliff, Roshan Yengkhom (Medical Assistant, Indian Navy), and Polchung 'Chung' Kipgen (Indian Navy) walked down from the village of Tangnub and found eleven previously ignored cave entrances, which they declared to represent nine new caves (Brooks, S J et al. 2009.02 Mss 'Diary 2009.doc' Thursday 19th). 2009.02.22: Jean-Pierre Bartholeyns, Sujan Shubba (Leading Seaman, Indian Navy), and Polchung 'Chung' Kipgen (Indian Navy) … rig one of the caves previously located by Henry on 19.02.09. It is an open pot of 14 m which stops on a boulder. After some blocks it is possible to continue down a crack on 27 m. The bottom of the pitch ended on mud. From the platform 15 m above, they went down another 14 m pitch which also ended on mud. Because the tape was 'too short” they could not survey the cave which has been kept rigged (Brooks, S J et al. 2009 Mss 'Diary 2009.doc'Sunday 22nd February). Brooks (undated 2009 June Mss amendment toRockcliff 2009.02.19 Mss: Hony Comb): 22/2/2009 — Jean-Pierre, Sujan and Chung descend first pitch (14m) & second pitch rift (27m) to reach bottom. A parallel pitch was also descended. Cave not surveyed (no tape!). 2009.02.23: Peter, Sujan and Chung went to Um Muju (Brooks, S J et al. 2009 Mss 'Diary 2009.doc' Monday 23rd February). Brooks (undated 2009 June Mss amendment to Rockcliff 2009.02.19 Mss: Hony Comb): 23/2/2009 — Peter, Sujan & Chung de-rig cave + survey cave.
