Krem Busti (N25°11'23.4”: E092°15'59.7”') APPROACH 2014.12.30: Take a track heading north from anniwhere in one ot the other lakadong (unidentified GPS position) past a so-called the school (unidentified GPS position). Fork without orientation left by the cave entrance to Krem Busti (N25°11'23.4”: E092°15'59.7”') and follow a path to N25°11'27.9”: E092°16'04.2”: 750 m … (after Audsley, A U 2014.12.30 Meghalaya cave record: Annie Audsley 26-02-2014 Krem Thang Bru.doc for Krang –>Tang Prew). An unspecified cave entrance (unidentified shape, unidentified dimensions, unidentified orientation, unidentified characteristics) is said to give access to an apparently 37 m deep shaft, sounded with a disto, but it is unclear if it may be any deeper (anonymous Arbenz, T in: anonymous Brooks, S J et al. 2014.04.05 Mss: Diary Meghalaya 2014 Second Edit: 25th February, Tuesday). IDENTITY 1: According to the three GPS positions recorded in 2000, 2001 and 2014, the two cave entrances ofKrang Busti and Krang –>Lahubon are about 80 m apart from each other but probably the same (note 1). IDENTITY 2: BKD [Brian D Kharpran Daly] claims it [Krang Busti] is Krem Manik Sati (Arbenz, T 2014.04.29 undated Mss: Cave record overwiev 2_ 2014.xlsx) but the Lakadong Sardar had indicated (1995.12.02) the approximate position of the allegedly jungle-clad cave entrance to Synrang –>Manik Sati (note 2) some 200 m (or so) north-east from Krang –>Umtngier (N25°11'59.8”: E092°16'30.6”) and thus almost 2 km in a direct line approximately NNE from the GPS position recorded for Krang Busti (N25°11'21.1”: E92°16'01.1”). ETYMOLOGY: The meaning and origin of the name recorded for the entrance of this -krem- (standard / Sohra Khasi) or, in this case more likely, -krang- (Lakadong Khasi) and cave (English) called Busti is obscured by fog in an abode of clouds (anonymous Brooks, S J et al. 2014.04.05 Mss). The loanword -basti- may have been meant (note 3). SITUATION: The currently (Februay 2014) only known cave entrance to Krem Busti lies more or less in the backyard of the Upper Primary School of Lakadong-Ummat (anonymous Arbenz, T in: anonymous Brooks, S J et al. 2014.04.05 Mss: Diary Meghalaya 2014 Second Edit: 25th February, Tuesday).y 2014) only known cave entrance to Krem Busti lies more or less in the backyard of the Upper Primary School of Lakadong-Ummat (anonymous Arbenz, T in: anonymous Brooks, S J et al. 2014.04.05 Mss: Diary Meghalaya 2014 Second Edit: 25th February, Tuesday).
