NURGAL (Cave at)

A huge cave entrance (13 to 14 m wide, 4 to 5 m high) gives access to a large, twilight-lit, and ascending chamber (22 m long) with a dark lateral passage on the left-hand side (note 1). SITUATION: At a distance of 3 km (along the road?) north of Nurgal (note 2) lies the cave high up in a marble cliff and some 40 vertical metres below the level of the road in the Kunar rud (Konar, Kuner Valley). CAVE LIFE: LINDBERG (1961a) lists Arthropoda: Hexapoda: Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Eocatops lindbergi Petroviz; Coleoptera: Hyniodinae gen. et. sp. indet.; Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae: gonocephalumermischi Kaszab; Arachnoidea: Chelonethi: Olpium intermedium Beier; Araneina: Nesticus concolor Roewer.
