Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 27/04/2016

A 20 m wide and 9 m high cave entrance faces east and give access to about 525 m of inlets on the orographically right (locally north-western) side of the Collaboration Canyon in Synrang –>Pamiang. ETYMOLOGY: The origin, history and meaning of apparently Khasi but possibly fictitious cave name »Krem Musmari« has not yet been discovered. It seems to refer to a "mu" or rock (note 1) which keeps (note 2) a bad smell (note 3). CAVE LIFE: Fischer, Christian W (2001 February 09 Mss, personal correspondence) noticed on 15th February 1999 the subterranean presence of harvestmen: Laniatores indet (one collected, in coll. Schwedinger, Geneve, Switzerland); crabs: Telaphusa indet; and woodlice: cf. Oniscidae indet. (one specimen collected, in coll. Spelda, Stuttgart, Germany).
