SAYYAD (Caves at)

Several luring entrances to natural caves at different levels (note 1) are visible in the face of a cliff composed of what appears to be limestone. A closer look, however, reveals a rather poor cave potential (note 2). SITUATION: At the side of the road from Kholm to Haibak (Aybak), about 12 or 13 km along the road south-south-east of Tash Qurgham (note 3), and in a promising cavernous mountain close to the village of Sayyad (note 4).Several luring entrances to natural caves at different levels (note 1) are visible in the face of a cliff composed of what appears to be limestone.
