A south-east facing (Arbenz, T 2010 HummingMonkeyPlan_1000.pdf) and about 10 m wide, sloping entrance (Brooks, S J et al. 2009.02 Mss -Diary 2009.doc- entry Saturday 21st) gives access to a wide and dry passage … the bottom end of Shyngrong Shrieh and Thapba Long Siem (Kharpran Daly in: Brooks, S J et al. 2009.02 Mss). ETYMOLOGY: The cave name -Krem Khongreng- (Win Pala, Tangnub, 2009.02.21) appears to mean something along the lines of a Horn-like Cave or an Antler-like Cave as the Khasi -khong- means resembling, taking the likeness off and -ka reng- is a horn, an antler (OLDHAM, T 1854 / 1984 appendix C: lxi; SINGH, N 1906: 34, 171; GURDON, P R T 1906: 203). Bridget Hall and friends (2009.02.05 in: Brooks, S J et al. 2009.02 Mss -Diary 2009.doc- Thursday 5th February) fabricated the nickname Frog Cave (note 1) and subsequent attempts of artful khasificionation (note 2) resulted in a thoroughly alienated Gakoid Cave which makes no sense at all (note 3). Arbenz, T (2010 January -HumminMonkeyPlan_1000.pdf- dated 26.2.008 // 18.2.2009) introduced with Valley Entrance yet another locally unknown cave name. SITUATION: In a so-called Unbelieve Doline (note 4) where one has to cross … thick jungly lapiaz to get there. Basically take a bearing of 012° from Umthe 2 for 140 m and hold tight, it's a bumpy ride (Brooks, S J et al. 2009.02 Mss -Diary 2009.doc- Saturday 14th February). APPROACH: Unknown.
