GHAWCHAK (Ghar)

A small (1.5 m wide, 1 m high, 5 m long) but culturally important man-made burial cave (note 1), sacred to Muslims and dedicated to the (Sufi?) saint and martyr -Goutchak- (Ghawchak), is excavated from conglomerate in the Ziarat (sanctuary and pilgrimage site) Ghourombar (note 2) or, perhaps, Ghuranbar, which lies at a distance of about 5.5 km in a direct line east-south-east from Jalalabad town (N34°26': E070°28', AIMS sheet PI42-07).
