WAH UM BLOH (Krem)

The two parallel, about 8 m deep entrance pitches of Krem Wah Um Bloh (note 1) consist of one dry cave entrance without identified dimensions, which is combined with a wet cave entrance without identified dimensions. The latter takes a stream, possibly the Um Bloh, Bluh, Blur or Bylla (note 2), and was understood to be characterised by an unexplainable flow of water, which was understood to arrive from an unidentified catchment area and to flow in an unidentified direction in a streambed of unexplainable dimensions. SITUATION: According to the unexpected but single GPS position that ever had been recorded, Krem Wah Um Bloh or Bluh lies on the eastern flanks of Lum Synket, a spur in the far south-eastern corner of the Shnongrim Ridge and above the headwaters of the Um Sngad, a tributary from the south-south-west to the Litang River. The cave entrance lies at linear distances of about 2.7 km approximtately south-east of Tangnub and a kilometre due south of Krem Umte (Pynthor) or 1.4 km pproximately NNW of Krem Um Sngad. APPROACH (Penney & Brown 2006.02.21 Mss -Krem Wah Um Bloh- dated 21/2/06): From an unspecified location on the about 12 or 15 km long road from Tangnoob (note 3) in an unexplainable direction (approximately south) to Moopat or Mupat (note 4), start walking at 25-16-59.9 N 092.30 -09.6 E [note 5], bearing [for some 300 m or so] south along Shaktiman track [4WD track] and climbing slightly, more or less on ridge, until a cowshed at 25-16-53.2 N/092-30-15.7E [note 6]. Bear left downhill, roughly east [269 m east and 59 m south], to 25-16-51.3N/ 092-30-25.3E, where a good path starts and descends into forest.Path bears right [probably southish] and 5 minutes walking [in circles?] brings you to pot, which is where path crosses a wide riverbed without identified dimensions or direction. CAVE DESCRIPTION 1 (Penney & Brown 2006.02.21 Mss): Entrance pitch takes water from the riverbed. A car-size boulder is wedged across entrance. Pitch 8 m and the main way o leads to a wet pitch, which is narrow at top. CAVE DESCRIPTION 2 (Brooks 2006 undated Mss: Amendments to Penney & Brown 2006.02.21 Mss): Two parallel pitches 8 m deep (one wet & one dry) descend to boulder choke through which a route following the water can be followed for 30 m. CAVE DESCRIPTION 3 (JARRATT 2006: 15): Hugh Penney, Des McNally, Peter Ludwig and Terence -Terry- M. Whitaker noticed not only 64 m but also a choke.pproximately NNW of Krem Um Sngad.
