Description
An unidentified cave, complete with fully unknown whereabouts, has never been traced inspite of being said to consist of an initially horizontal, seasonal stream cave passage, which is reputed to contain water and fish (Mulda Rupon 2001.02.18 personal communication). ETYMOLOGY: The Synteng -krem myntliar“ is suspected to translate simply as Cave [of the] Rainy Season's Stream as the Synteng -myn- is an abbreviation of um (river), as myn khen for umkhen; it is generally pronounced myng (SINGH, N 1906: 135) and the Khasi -ka l'iur- is the rainy season (SINGH, N 1906: 118) .SITUATION: At an unknown location somewhere in the vicinity of the village of Mulesngi and either near the road to Lumthari (N25°22'56”: E092°31'45”) or near the road across the valley of the Litang river to Nongkhlieh.
