KHIM KUT SUTIANG (Krem)
25.328100,92.526400
Description
An estimated 15 m long pothole with an inexplicable width drops initially 7 m down (needs 7 m ladder) and then leads in one way or another to three known possible ways on. ETYMOLOGY: Compare Krem –>Kut Sutiang. The Khasi adjective -khim- means narrow (SINGH, N 1906: 32). SITUATION: At an unknown location somewhere in jungle (a knowledgeable guide essential) between Krem –>Kut Sutiang and Krem –>Ticha. PROSPECTS: In spite of three possible ways on (Jarratt 2003.03.13 Mss: Krem Khim Kut Sutiang) this cave had not only been declared not promising due to it's location in the hillside at Kut Sutiang (Jarratt 2003.02.22 Mss: Cave Log 2003: 22/2/03) but also was classied as reasonable because it is suspected, of course without bothering to think up arguments, to be associated with 19th century Jaintia partisans (Jarratt 2003.03.13 Mss: Krem Khim Kut Sutiang). An estimated 15 m long pothole with an inexplicable width drops initially 7 m down (needs 7 m ladder) and then leads in one way or another to three known possible ways on.
