A proto-cave nicknamed Scratch Rift (note 1) consists, at a width of 60 to 25 cm, of a too tight but possibly up to 2 m deep fissure (Arbenz, T 2006.05.21 Mss: Abstracts.xls) that eventually may develop into a cave within a few thousand years. SITUATION: Brown (2000.02.10 Mss: Scratch Rift) places this item at a quick and easy location from GPS 220° 7 m into depression [note 2] generally on W. side of ridge below Lelad (note 3). CAVE DESCRIPTION: Brown (2000.02.10 Mss: Scratch Rift) arrived at observing a 60 cm wide rift trending 310° where everybody is has the honour to climb down and in 2 m as it narrows and soon vertigo is under control since the horizon down there is controllable and 25 cm wide.
