Location
The Tham Tong Priest's Camp Site is on the north-east flank of Doi Pha Liap at the mouth of the Nam Mae Pae gorge. It is 2.5 km north-west of Ban Mon Hin on the H108. It is developed as a large meditation centre and is sign posted from the main road.
Description
The entrance, at the base of a cliff, is small and heavily developed as a shrine. At the back of the shrine a wooden door gives access to the rest of the cave which is occasionally used as a meditation retreat. An internet reference seems to imply that it is a stream cave and local legend says the cave goes to Doi Chiang Dao. On a visit in January 2010 the wooden door was locked, so the rest of the cave was not visited.
