Description
A cave yielding 286 m of stream passage terminated in a crawlway too narrow to enter (WARREN 2004: 250). ETYMOLOGY: The Khasi cave name -Krem Phud Mawiong- translates as Cave [on the] Streambed [of the] Black Stone as the Khasi noun ”ka phúd” (or -phot- MAMALLAN et al. 1995) is the bed of a stream; a mountain gorge (SINGH, N 1906: 158; SINGH, N 1920: 40) or gully and the Khasi -mawiong- means black stone and is an imitative for coal (note 1).
