An unspecified cave of unknown character (is this an open air iron ore mine?) is called »Synrang Narwan« (or so) and said to lie at a walking distance of about 30 minutes in an unspecified direction from the Sutnga I.B. (PWD = Public Works Department Inspection Bungalow N25°22'18”: E092°25'49” WGS84: 1060 m asl GPS). ETYMOLOGY: The Khasi "u nar" means »iron« (NISSOR SONGH 1904: 139) and the adjective "wang" means »ajar, wide open« while the noun "u wang" or "ka wang" is »a taro stalk, [Botanically] Colocassia antiquorum« (NISSOR SONGH 1904: 244).
