Description
A so-called pit entrance (unidentified shape, unidentified characteristics), which is an estimated 1 m long and 0.5 m wide (unidentified orientation) and located in a [relatively] long gryke (more than 10'000 km long?), is said to give access to a seasonal sink which was found to contain mud, rocks (Furlong 2011.02.13 Mss: Gryke Pit.doc). ETYMOLOGY: No autochthonous, indigenous or locally known name has been identified for what has been christened Gryke Pit (Furlong 2011.02.13 Mss: Gryke Pit.doc). SITUATION: Not only in an unspecified setting but also at an unidentified location, which lies in unspecified spatial relations to unidentified landmarks (Furlong 2011.02.13 Mss: Gryke Pit.doc) somewhere in the area east of the village of Kseh (St. Joseph church near 25°25’24.0”N: 92°35’32.9”E: circa 880 m) and west of the orographically right bank of the Kopili River (26°15'N: 92°10'E). APPROACH (Furlong 2011): From the north-eastern end of the Kseh football pitch (behind the church) ake the footpath towards west and valley bottom. Rely on [the obviously wrong] GPS position [note 1] (Furlong 2011.02.13 Mss: Gryke Pit.doc).CAVE DESCRIPTION: The pitch is located in a [a relatively] long gryke [with an unidentified extension]. The water sinks at the lowest part. Moved rocks reveal an [estimated] 3 m-pitch --not possible to climb (undercut). EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2011.02.13, trip 1: Guided by none, it were Imogen Furlong, Angela Arbenz and Ksan Kupar 'Ronnie' Mawlong, who located the cave [entrance] (Furlong 2011.02.13 Mss: Gryke Pit.doc). In other words, Imo, Hellie, Angela and Ronnie … walked back [from the –>Hostage Cave] to camp and did a little prospecting along the way finding Marriage Cave and Gryke Pit, two possibilities. On return to the camp, Imo started to pack some tackle … and Hellie played local skipping with children (anonymous Arbenz, T et al. 2011.03.27 undated Mss: 2011 Diary.doc: Sunday, 13th February 2011).2011.02.22, trip 2: Imogen Furlong, Nicola Bayley and Ksan Kupar 'Ronnie' Mawlong descended and explored [in the sense of entered and proceeded up to] to a mud choke (Furlong 2011.02.13 Mss: Gryke Pit.doc).
