Description
A cave and spring (note 1) is said to be the source of a stream called Um Muju (note 2). ETYMOLOGY: The Synteng noun -ka chun- (chuna, chuni) seems to correspond to the Khasi -ka shun- (note 3) and is lime (SINGH, N 1906: 200) as -shun kpu- is slaked lime and -shun dewiong- is lime burned with coal while -shun dieng- is lime burned with wood (SINGH, N 1906: 200) and -u mawshun- is the limestone (SINGH, N 1906: 131). SITUATION: At an unspecified location somewhere in the Eitkoh area at the western foot of the Nongkhlieh Ridge (Wesley Rupon & Pyntyngen Bamon 2001.02.12 personal communication) and at the head of the Um Muju (note 2 again), a tributary, which joins the Litang near N25°18'28-: E092°31'52- (B.D. Kharpran Daly 2001.02.12, blunder prone Magellan 2000XL).
