GENERAL DESCRIPTION A relatively small cave of unspecified size, without known name (note 1), is situated in a relatively small hill of unspecified size, which is called -Koh Akhour- (built up of arenaceous limestone on diabase) and rises near Kah Kahdanak (note 2), 6.5 km in a direct line south-south-west of Farah (note 3). CAVE DESCRIPTION: The cave consists of one solitary rift passage, 5 to 8 m long, which ends beyond a constriction in a tiny chamber 0.5 m in diameter. There is not a single speleothem (-concretion-, calcite formation) and the floor is covered with fine dust. CAVE CLIMATE: Very dry. Air temperature on 25th April 1958 at the entrance 30°C, inside 27°C. CAVE LIFE: LINDBERG (1958, 1961a) observed larvae of Crocini (ant lions?) which he found in the permanent dark zone while they were absent in the daylight-lit entrance area.
