Description
No locally known name has been identified for a pothole cave entrance nicknamed Lelad Cave 2 that was understood to represent an unexplored rift pot which anyhow was claimed to yield a meterage of more than 15 m in length and 10 m in depth (Brooks 2006 undated Mss: Amendments to Brown, Mark W. 2006.02.10 Mss -Lelad 2- dated 10/2/06). SITUATION 1 (Brown 2006.02.10 Mss -Lelad 2- dated 10/2/06): GPS point at end of rift. SITUATION 2 (Brooks 2006 undated Mss amendments to Brown 2006.02.10 Mss): In vicinity of Lelad village. SITUATION 3 (Gebauer 2006.11.06): According to the only recorded GPS position, the second Lelad Cave lies at a linear distance of 9 m east from the first Lelad Cave and about 90 m in a direct line approximately north-west (NW) of the Lelad church (N25°18'37”: E92°29'43”). SPELEOMETRY: This Rift trending 120° to 10 m + drop (Brown 2006.02.10 Mss) consists of an ud shaft c10 m (Arbenz, T 2006.05.21 Mss: Abstracts.xls) that is surmised to yield Length 15 m +; verticalrange: -10 m (Brooks 2006 undated Mss amendments to Brown 2006.02.10 Mss). TACKLE: Brooks (2006 undated Mss amendments to Brown 2006.02.10 Mss) recoomends 20 m ladder / rope. PROSPECTS: Brooks (2006 undated Mss amendments to Brown 2006.02.10 Mss) reckons good.
