Description

Martin Ellis - 12/07/2019

A stream which flows through Pathio runs under the mountain by way of this cave. We visited during the rainy season (August) and were lucky to find the stream dry. We were able to walk the entire length of the cave. Although report to be 300m long it felt longer. Access to the cave is no more than 20 steps and there are no difficult sections to climb (flat sandy stream bed). It was a nice easy walk. Just watch your head in places where the ceiling is low. The cave comes out onto a palm plantation the otherside of the mountain. This is in fact the sink entrance, where the stream enters the cave. What made the visit to this cave very special were the bats. There were hundreds flying around and amazingly was not hit by one once. There is no lighting installed in the cave so bring a good torch.
