Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 31/05/2016

An unspecified cave entrance (unidentified shape, unidentified dimensions, unidentified orientation, unidentified characteristics) gives access to an enterable passage inside a »stream cave« which allows sportsmen in search of recreational adventure to exercise the quick and easy reaching of limits in an »stream cave upstream 1.5 m wide and 2 m high for 25 m to choke, downstream same for 30 m« (Chapman, T 1999.02.13 Mss). ETYMOLOGY: No autochthonous, indigenous or locally known name has been identified for what Tom Chapman simply christened »Shnongrim Streamcave« (Chapman, T. 1999.02.13 in Sandford, Estelle 1999 Mss: IB Logbook 99). SITUATION: In an unspecified setting and, according to the recorded GPS position (unidentified precision error), about 245 m lin a direct line approximately south-east from the GPS position for the –>Shnongrim Streamcave (Chapman 1999) and thus about 250 m in a direct line southeast from the village of Umpuh above the east (orographically left) bank of the Sehshympi River (the upper reaches of the Prang River), and at about halfway in a direct line between Lakadong and Lumshnong.

History

EXPLORATION HISTORY: 1999.02.13: Tom Chapman (1999.02.13 Mss) effectively visited the unspecified entrance to an unidentified streamcave, entered to a degree resulting in noticing what was declared as a »choke« here and an other »choke« there even before he successfully exited.
