Location

The cave entrance lies approximately 25 m above the valley floor at the (eastern?) side of a hillock, or mound at (or east of?) Qezel Qal'eh (note 2), a village near Shu Bakhtu (note 3) and north of Khesht Pul (note 4), which itself lies at a distance of about 10 km along the road east of Maymana. BTH - 28/01/2024

The cave on the Qezel Qala is a -so to say- cave (note 1) which starts as a small, roundish shaped rock shelter in limstone and continues, on approaching at the left-hand side, in an ascending and narrow but penetrable rift passage, four or five metres long.
