Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

An approximately 0.8 by 2.0 (metres?) large cave entrance gives access to what looks like pothole with an estimated 30–40 m shaft , narrow at the beginning but getting wider 5 m down (Pelletier 2008.02.21 Mss: T04). SITUATION: At an unspecified location which lies in an unexplainable spatial relation to the other -T- caves (note 1). APPROACH 1: To reach the entrance to the fourth -T- cave, G. Pelletier (2008.02.21 Mss: T04) suggests to get to a small pine forest (N25°17'13”: E92°29'52” without identified geodetic datum), which seems to lie at a travelling distance of about 2 km from the village of Tangnub (note 2) along the motorable 4WD track south towards Mupat (note 3). From the pine grove, take a small path and follow this for an unknown distance in an unidentified direction to a spot without coordinates, which once for a few days in late February 2008 had been characterised, literally quoted, by a pile of wood (in case this pile of eagerly sought for mining props has been takn away, please bring your own). According to G. Pelletier (2008.02.21 Mss: T04), this pile of wood is the very spot where, again literally quoted, several smaller path begins while the description of how exactly to find this T04 cave suddenly comes to a premature but abrupt end. TACKLE: A pile of wood and some caving gear. PROSPECTS: This is perhaps Not the -Most Better Cave-in-the-World- but worth a look (Pelletier 2008.02.21 Mss: T04) and suspected to be guilty of Poss. connection to Krem Shynrong Shrieh (Anonymous, undated manuscript amendment to Pelletier 2008.02.21 Mss: T04).An approximately 0.8 by 2.0 (metres?) large cave entrance gives access to what looks like pothole with an estimated 30–40 m shaft , narrow at the beginning but getting wider 5 m down (Pelletier 2008.02.21 Mss: T04). History

EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2008.02.21, trip 1: Guillaume Pelletier (2008.02.21 Mss: T04) and Alys Mendus found T04 … on 21/02/2008. 2009.02.03, trip 2: Brian D. Kharpran Daly and Jean-Pierre Bartholeyns did surface recce and went to Krem –>Bam Masi in company with the Indian Navy seamen Biranchi Narayan Bhola (Leading Seaman), Karma Choki Bhutia (Leading Store Assistant) Pankaj Rai (Seaman 1st Class), and Sujan Shubba (Leading Seaman). On the way back they turned left 250 m before the crossroads to Hummingbird [note 4]. They went down until the limit of the bush and saw three other entrances in an area where all the vegetation was cut like a garden. These turned out to be caves already located: T04, T08 and T10 (Brooks, S J et al. 2009 Mss 'Diary 2009.doc' Tuesday 3rd February). Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018
