Description
The promising cave (note 1) on the Hill of the Religious Master called Largar (or the Master from Largar) is reported from a situation somewhere at an unspecified distance in an unknown direction from the village of Kurghay (note 2), which lies somewhere at unrecognised distance on a road from Gereshk, Lindberg's Guerechk (note 3) to Naw Zad, Lindberg's Naouzar (note 4), and -several- (sic!) kilometres from the other Ghar –>Khwaja at Siah Poshteh, Lindberg's Syah Pochteh. CAVE DESCRIPTION: The cave, some 70 vertical metres above the level of the plain, starts with a short ascending rift passage, which, on average about a metre wide and high enough to allow walking upright, and leads into a solitary, winding gallery at various levels. Climbing up and down, one passes enlargements and large whirlpools. The main gallery ends at two undescended pits: One, on the left-hand side, is about 7 m deep (estimated?), and the other, on the right, seems to be deeper. CAVE CONTENTS: Calcite cocretions [secondary calcite formations] are absent and the polished cave walls are shaped by water. The cave floor exposes bare, polished rock and is, in places, covered with considerable amounts of bat guano (keyword: Chiroptera). CAVE CLIMATE: An air temperature of 26.5°C and a humidity of 60% was measured on 19th April 1958 near the terminal pits when the temperature near the entrance was 22.5°C in the air.The promising cave (note 1) on the Hill of the Religious Master called Largar (or the Master from Largar) is reported from a situation somewhere at an unspecified distance in an unknown direction from the village of Kurghay (note 2), which lies somewhere at unrecognised distance on a road from Gereshk, Lindberg's Guerechk (note 3) to Naw Zad, Lindberg's Naouzar (note 4), and -several- (sic!) kilometres from the other Ghar –>Khwaja at Siah Poshteh, Lindberg's Syah Pochteh.
