Description
The largest of the three dry and murky but twilight-lit caves (note 1) or grottes-abris (rock shelter caves) is 3 m wide, 2 to 3 m high and about 5 m long, with soot covered walls. The cave floor is covered with dung of goat and sheep. SITUATION: All three are found at at an elevation of 2800 m asl in an escarpment of what appears to be limestone at an unclear location in Panjshir (note 2) and at a certain place called El Dilavar (perhaps Ghuranbar or so) Dalandar), or Pathawar (perhaps Petavah, Petawa or so), which lies about 7 or 8 km north-east of a place which LINDBERG (1962a: 7) called Till (note 3). CAVE LIFE: Diptera, Coleoptera (Staphylinidae), and Acaria. The largest of the three dry and murky but twilight-lit caves (note 1) or grottes-abris (rock shelter caves) is 3 m wide, 2 to 3 m high and about 5 m long, with soot covered walls.
