Description
A relatively narrow cave entrance with unidentified dimensions (Scherzer, H 2015.04.01 Mss -Tagebuch- Mi. 07.01.2015), in profile letter T-shaped, faces an unidentified direction and gives access to the entrance area of a cave system which combines a high and narrow, fluted rift cave passage (low level) with a broad but shallow bedding plane cave passage (high level) formed beneath the contact with the overlying caprock (Lakadong Sandstone). SETTING: In a cliff face exposing fluted Lakadong Limestone capped with Lakadong Sandstone and at the edge of a level ground in a neighbourhood of extensive orangeries / orange plantations (bri soh ñiamtra) or orange gardens (kper soh ñiamtra). The site featured in January 2015 a level ground, devoid of vegetation, with a heap of coal, a rusting iron crane, and a worked but currently stopped coal mine (note 1). SITUATION: Presumably at the very same spot (note 2) as the square-shaped -mine pit- which intersects the cave passages of Krem –>Pyrda, Ciehruphi. Actually, however, near (ignored precision error presumably ±0.0 m) 25°12'48.4”N: 92°22'56.0”E (Scherzer, H 2015.01.07) and thus at a spot which lies (linear distances, approximate directions) 85 m E of K. –>Pyrda, Chiehruphi -mine pit- ±32 m 25°12'49”N: 92°22'53”E 35 m E of K. –>Pyrda, Chiehruphi, 2nd -water hole- ±50 m 25°12'49”N: 92°22'55”E 140 m NNE of K. –>Pyrda, Chiehruphi, 3rd -Valley head- ±75 m 25°12'44”N: 92°22'55”E CAVE DESCRIPTION: The cave entrance is narrow (Scherzer, H 2015.04.01 Mss -Tagebuch- Mi. 07.01.2015).iehruphi. EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2015.01.07: A certain U Meding from Chiehruphi guided Harald Scherzer and Franz Lindenmayr past a series of seasonally dry sinks (insurgences) to a certain Pyrda area and the narrow entrance of an unidentified horizontal rift cave which was neither entered nor explored but istantly taken as one Krem Pyrda 1 (Scherzer, H 2015.04.01 Mss 'Tagebuch' Mi. 07.01.2015).
