Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

A vertical cave entrance with unidentified dimensions and unspecified characteristics, which seems to drain a seasonal water course from one doline appears to give access to what was identified as shaft (anonymous Brooks, S J 2010.02.14 Mss: Krem Lacarvi 1). ETYMOLOGY: The origin, historical development and meaning of the word -Lacarvi- (note 1) is obscured in the Abode of Fog (Brooks, S J anonymous 2010.02.14 Mss: Krem Lacarvi 1). Without any doubt, however, -Lacarvi- is not a Khasi word. Perhaps, but this is mere guesswork, the immigrants were actually told about -sla kiar mi- or spreading creeper [plant] leafs (note 2). SITUATION: The cave entrance to the first shaft called Lacarvi (or so) lies at an unspecified the end of an unspecified doline in what had been in February 2010 a short-lived clearing with cut downe banana plants (note 3!) and at a linear distance of 8 m in an unidentified direction from what had been in February 2010 a banana plant (sic!) but also adjacent (withoutidentified direction) to an unspecified dead rotting ivey [sic! qua: ivy] covered tree [note 4] (anonymous Brooks, S J 2010.02.14 Mss: Krem Lacarvi 1).CAVE DESCRIPTION: Shaft (anonymous Brooks, S J 2010.02.14 Mss: Krem Lacarvi 1). DEVICE DESCRIPTION: 20 m shaft into down-sloping passage (ongoing but too tight) with little water flow (ARBENZ, T 2012: 237).A vertical cave entrance with unidentified dimensions and unspecified characteristics, which seems to drain a seasonal water course from one doline appears to give access to what was identified as shaft (anonymous Brooks, S J 2010.02.14 Mss: Krem Lacarvi 1). History

EXPLORATION HISTORY: Disputable. The GPS position recorded for Krem Lacarvi 1 is said to have been read by EF on 14/2/2010 (anonymous Brooks S J 2010.02.14 Mss: Krem Lacarvi 1) but Anonymous et al. (2010.03.29 Mss: Diary.doc) mention no Krem Lacarvi (or so) while EF (Erfan Fekri) is said (Brooks et al 2010.03.29 Mss: Survey summary.xls) to have joined on 14th February 2010 with MT (Mark E. Tringham) and Prakash (Prakash C. Bishnoi) to measure 206.45 m of distances in the so-called Krem Khle Mynsgad (i.e. Krem –>Khlieh Mynsngad). It is when we come to ARBENZ, T (2012: 237) that we are told descended by D. Pettiglio. Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018
