GENERAL DESCRIPTION No autochthonous, indigenous or locally known name has been identified for a cave (note 1) represented by a relatively small and narrow but 56 m long solitary passage, which looks like having been shaped by water rushing through a fissure. At a distance of 45 m from the cave entrance is a slight angled corner and 10 m further on a shallow, about 35 cm deep depression which is soon followed by an impenetrable (?) constriction. Not a single speleothem (concretion) is found. The floor is covered with earth and very dry dust. SITUATION: At an elevation of 600 m asl (LINDBERG 1961a: 12) and probably near the village of Boghavi (note 2), which lies a distance of 10 km (along the road?) east of Sar-e Pul (note 3) and on the road to Tokzar (note 4). CAVE CLIMATE: Near the entrance a temperature of 12°C was measured in the air on 14th October 1957 but in the interior of the cave the thermometer read 22°C. CAVE LIFE: LINDBERG (1958: 121) recorded Thysanura, Coleoptera (Tenebrionida), Diptera (Clicida), Lepidoptera, Archanida (Araneida) and lizard. JUBERTHIE & DECU (2001: 1746) list Arachnida: Aranea: Tegenaria domestica Clerk.
