Description
A daylight-lit, circular pothole (3 m in diameter) under a canopy of orchids (Neil Sootinck) offers 28 m of more or less vertical cave passage (needs tackle), which eventually leads to a lower cave entrance (3 m in diameter) some 25 vertical metres further down. ETYMOLOGY: The Mizo -Leitla Pawp- translates into Leitla Collapse Sinkhole. SITUATION: In the west of Lungleng village, close to a steep gully (almost dry in April) and about 4 or 5 m from the edge of a cliff exposing thick bedded but multiple fractured arenaceous mudstone.

EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2001.04.26: Vanlalruata, Tlau Laltanpuia and David Lalhimpuia descended in the late afternoon and measured the length. Alfred Vanchhawng took photographs and H. D. Gebauer a GPS reading.
