Location
On the eastern end of the Doi Luang Chiang Dao summit plateau. From the campsite take the path down the mountain, then the path to the left of almost level poppy field. From the field head for a little gorge and the belt of trees on a 50 m upward sloping scree slope, right on the edge of the jungle is the entrance to the cave which is on a bearing of 228¦.
Description
From a relatively narrow opening the entrance shaft (P25) expands to around 3 m. Its depth is 25 m and at the very bottom it is comprehensively blocked with stone and clay rubble. 4 m above the bottom of the shaft, on its west side, is the beginning of the narrow rift, which is the continuation of the entrance shaft. After a few metres this ends at a chimney and then there is another squeeze, with a width of 30 cm, which leads toward the north-east to the top of the next pitch (P8). Beyond this the cave widens to 3 m, and then again decreases to a narrow slot leading to the lowest point of the cave. There is a shaft down, but it is too narrow for a human. On the walls of the shafts and fissures there is very sharp cave popcorn. The floor is covered with clay and fragments of rock. Spiders were observed in the entrance shaft.
