NONGTOMA HOLLOW (Latouche 1883)

Description
On a route from »Umlupar« to »Satunga« and »near the village of Nongtoma (about 2 miles [3 km] to the south of the Laterkap) I passed a funnel-shaped hollow similar to those at Nokhara [compare –>Nokara Pothole], but could not find any limestone below it« (LATOUCHE, T H D 1883b: 200). SITUATION: I cannot identifiy »the Laterkap« (LATOUCHE, T H D 1883b: 200) on a route, which seems to have run from »Umlupar« or Umlaper (note 1) initially north and later north-west to »Satunga« or Sutnga (note 2), but »Nongtoma« (LATOUCHE, T H D 1883b: 200) is probably either the "New Village" Nongthymmai (note 3) or the "Old New Village" Nongthymmai Rim (note 4).
