Description
Two or three ceiling collapse entrances (the largest almost 20 m by up to 30 m large) give access to a 30 m wide and 4 m high passage, which, illuminated by daylight entering from 15 m deep avens openings to the top of the hillock. Once again are noteworthy deposits accumulated in the extremities of the cave: A vertical succession of ochre, red and black coloured deposits alternating with breccias. The mineral constituents are the same as in the other caves while the rock of the ceiling is much altered to depths of more than 50 cm, and covered with working traces of pickaxes. SITUATION: DUBOIS (1996: 10) places »Grotte d'Iswal 5« at a distance of about 2 km approximately north of the caves Iswal 3 and Iswal 4. DUBOIS (1996: 13) positions »Grotte d'Iswal 5« at the coordinates 779,800 / 2708,000 (without map datum, unspecified source).
