About three, east-facing cave entrances, which are separated from each other by massive rock columns, give access to a beautiful little grotto cave (Colin Rogers 2001.03.21), which had been about 10 m long, was accidentally exposed by quarrying, and probably has been lost in the meantime. SITUATION: In the valley of the river Arli (note 1), about 700 m west of the Office and Guest House, and in the working face (spring 2001) of the Komora Limestone Mining Company (KLMC) quarry (note 2). CAVE DESCRIPTION after Colin Rogers (2001.03.21 personal communication) and his sketch plan (grade 1 to 2) of Small Cave Underneath Larger System Across From The KLM Office showing an approximately 2 m wide and 1 m high cave entrance leading to some 10 m or 14 m of stooping sized cave passage of phreatic origin, currently partly filled with earth and life roots of unidentified plants and containing unusual pendulous speleothems. Also present are or were other secondary calcite formations, including canonball, cauliflower (botryoidal stalagmite speleothems), dripstone, stalactite straws. Additionally contributing to the cave passage's interior design were not only small-sized scallops indicating a high velocity flow of water but also mix of cracked mud floor with sticky mud mud floor and -- further into the cave -- a beautiful sandy floor.onball, cauliflower (botryoidal stalagmite speleothems), dripstone, stalactite straws.
