Description
An unidentified number of unspecified cave entrances (unidentified shape, unidentified dimensions, unidentified orientation, unidentified characteristics) lead collectively to relic cave passages formed parallel to a cliff face, which were abandoned by flowing water on 15th January 2015 but allowed in places the flow of noteworthy air currents (Scherzer, H 2015.04.01 Mss -Tagebuch- Do. 15.01.2015). ETYMOLOGY: No autochthonous, indigenous or locally known name has been identified for this complex of cave entrances (Scherzer, H 2015.04.01 Mss -Tagebuch- Do. 15.01.2015). Several caves in Meghalaya, which feature closely neighbouring cave entrances, are locally called Krem Khyndai Jingkhang (Nine Entrances Cave). SITUATION: North of a certain -the Brishirnot road- and thus north of a road which leads either to to Brishyrnot (25°08'45”N: 92°23'00”E) or to Brishyrnot (25°09'55”N: 92°25'30”E). POSITION: Somewhere in the vicinity of a GPS waypoint near (ignored precision error presumaly ±0.0 m) 25°10'10”N: 92°23'50”E: 317 m (Scherzer, H 2015.01.15 GPS Garmin Etrex). CAVE CLIMATE: One can safely assume that the multitude of interconnected cave entrances at various heights, which lead to interlinked cave passages, constituted not only on 15th January 2015 but most of the time an ideal field of action for playful air currents. Due to the given circumstances, the underground airflow was especially strong in constricted sections.ly ±0.0 m) 25°10'10”N: 92°23'50”E: 317 m (Scherzer, H 2015.01.15 GPS Garmin Etrex). EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2015.01.15: Harald 'Harry' Scherzer, Neil Sootinck and Neville Sootinck searched for a resurgence of Krem Kotsati and found an inexplicable number of cave entrances to relic cave passages which none led obviously further underground. As usual, it was decided that 'effective' sounds better than 'lazy' and the expedition cavers rapidly succeeded in achieving keine Vermessung or no cave survey (Scherzer, H 2015.04.01 Mss 'Tagebuch' Do. 15.01.2015).
