An unspecified cave entrance (unidentified shape, unidentified dimensions, unidentified orientation, unidentified characteristics) was said to give access to an unidentified and unspecified but locally known cave (Raphael Warjri, Shillong, 1998.02.09, personal communication). ETYMOLOGY: Unknown. The origin and history of the cave name »Krem Maweit« is said (Raphael Warjri 1998.02.09, personal communication) has not yet been identified. It seems to refer to a "krem" or cave associated with a "maw" or rock and sort of an "eit" (note 1) or sort of a dung, excrement, feces, ordure, refuse, scum, shit, soil, stool (note 2) or, perhaps, slag (note 3). SITUATION: Unknown. Somewhere in the vicinity of the village of Mawkneng (note 4), a village somewhere in the vicinity of Nongstoin (25°30'35”N: 91°16'05”E). CAVE POTENTIAL: Unknown. There are, however, several unidentified "caves" (or so) near Mawkneng, namely: Krem –>Lum Khongpliang (Kharpran Daly, B D 1997.03.13 Mss "25 caves located" item 11) Krem –>Maweit (Raphael Warjri, Shillong, 1998.02.09, personal communication) Krem –>Wah Dika (Kharpran Daly, B D 1997.03.13 Mss "25 caves located" item 12). Krem –>Weiklasup (Kharpran Daly, B D 1997.03.13 Mss "25 caves located" item 10).
