Description
Collapsing relics of unlined and dilapidating railway tunnel entrances led CÌLEK, V et al. (1989: 10) to believe Caves were observed in Bolan Valley [Darah-e Bolan, Bolan Passage] 800 m NW of the first railway tunnel. Till today a railway line crosses Bolan Passage but the first generation of tunnels was abandoned when a new line, less vulnerable to catastrophic flood events, was built further above the river bed. These caves in Bolan valley (CÌLEK, V et al. 1989: 10) appear to correspond to an almost square shaped entrance near kilometre 210 of the railway line, and, upon travelling from Quetta to Sibi, just below the third railway bridge across the valley proper (two other bridges cross tributaries).
