Description
A crypt (compare: Saint –>Thomas' Cave), which is said to contain the remains of St. Thomas the Apostle (Doubting Thomas), exposes man-made, plastered and white-washed walls and can be entered by a stairway just before the altar (note 1) of San Tome Cathedral, a Roman Catholic church built in 1504, then rebuilt in neo-Gothic style in 1893 (note 2).
