Accessible cave roost … Interesting for both caving and bat study. Belongs to indiviual farmer (PHUYAL & DHOUBADEL 2006: 34 table 1 item 10). ETYMOLOGY: Since the two caves –>Mahendra Gufa and –>Birendra Cave in the Pokhara Valley are called after members of the formerly royal family, noty only the strange Crazy Cave (ADHIKARI 2008: 45; PHUYAL & DHOUBADEL 2006: 34; PHUYAL 2007: 28) but also Shanti Gupha, Hemja 2 and Peace Cave or Worldpeace Cave may have been named in honour of other royals of Nepal (note 1).SITUATION: Crazy Cave (Armala 6) … situated in 30 minute distance from motor road (PHUYAL & DHOUBADEL 2006: 34 table 1 item 10). POSITION: The GPS position N28°16'19”: E083°58'52” (unidentified geodetic datum, unspecified precision error) for the entrance to Crazy Cave, Armala 6 (ADHIKARI, Hari 2008: 45) or Crazy Cave (Armala - 6 Siplekuna) (WASTI & ACHARYA 2011: 332 table 1 site no. 1) indicates a location about 2.7 km in a direct line approximately WSW (-712 m north and -2.6km east) from Armala (note 2). CULTURAL HISTORY - Bat conservation: PHUYAL (2007: 28) A bat brochure was published in Nepali language … in collaboration with Self Help Environment Awareness Camp (SHEAC), Pokhara. Brochures were distributed among people around Bat Cave [Chamere Gufa, Battulechaur], Mahendra Cave, Crazy Cave, Birendra Cave, Putli Cave, Sita Cave, Gupteshwor Cave [Gupteshwar Gupha, Chhorepatan] and Peace Cave (Shanti Gupha, Hemja / Hengja).km east) from Armala (note 2).
