Description
»In the hill above Serwa [note 1] is a cave in which it is said that a Fakir lived. The rock adjacent is still covered with lime, but the Fakir has gone since the Hindus have obtained possession of the country. The cave seems to have had a door and windows« (BUCHANAN 1926: 13).
NOTE 1: »Serwa« (BUCHANAN 1926: 13) is not identified (compare –>Sorhow Cave) unless it corresponds to the »Saraihwa« near N24°34'30": E082°50'30" (Survey of India sheet 64-L/14 edition 1971), a spot south of the Son river, in Mirzapur district, Robertsganj tahsil). About half a kilometre south of the village rises a 70 m high bouldery hill to an elevation of 253 m asl.
